Coastal Resource-Based Creative Economy: A Literature Review of Sustainable Products and Business Models

The creative economy based on coastal resources represents a strategic approach to improving the welfare of coastal communities through innovative and sustainable utilization of local potential. This article aims to review the literature on the development of coastal creative economy products and sustainable business models, with a focus on empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in fisheries-based processing activities. This study employs a qualitative approach using a narrative literature review method. The main sources reviewed include studies on creative economy-based MSME empowerment in the coastal area of Cilamaya, Subang, West Java, and creative economy development in coastal communities of Bengkalis Regency. The review results indicate that product innovation, implementation of good production practices, packaging and branding improvement, business legality enhancement, and digital marketing strengthening are key factors for the success of coastal creative economy initiatives. Community-based business models have proven effective in increasing income, enhancing human resource capacity, and ensuring the sustainability of coastal MSMEs
